The measures we are taking

June 1, 2020- Information on the measures taken by A to Z Therapy Clinic to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for our clients and families.

A to Z Therapy Clinic has been consistently and closely monitoring the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and taking all necessary precautions to protect everyone’s health and safety. Our move from the initial opening date of March to July 1, 2020 has been influenced by the changing dynamics as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

On May 20, 2020, the Government of Quebec announced the reopening of private health services for June 1, 2020. With this in mind, A to Z Therapy Clinic promises a safe, clean and fun environment for your child to continue getting the support they need.

Clinic Infection Control

We follow and exceed all government issued guidelines and protocols in relation to infection control within our clinic. These include:

•Pre-screening phone calls to all clients prior to their appointments to ensure they do not have symptoms
•All people coming to the clinic are called beforehand to ensure they have no symptoms
•Any staff who has any symptoms will not come into the clinic, and their clients will be called and notified
•Staff members will use best practice in infection control thorough frequent hand washing, and frequent hand sanitizing during the appointment with your child
•All high-risk transmission surfaces are cleaned after each use (e.g. toys, resources, clinic room surfaces, waiting room tables, phones)
•Moderate to low-risk surfaces are wiped down multiple times per day (e.g. waiting room chairs, door handles
•Sanitization of clinic toys/resources is performed after each client
•All waiting room toys and books have been removed
•Exclusion zones introduced to clinic rooms by distancing furniture/seating to reduce risk of transmission
•Public health information is displayed in common areas and bathrooms
•Timing of sessions is planned out to reduce client cross-over in waiting rooms

Clinic Precautionary

•Immediate washing of hands upon arrival for the child and their guardian
•Hand sanitizer will be accessible in the clinic •Increased cleaning and sanitizing schedule to the entire clinic
•Limiting number of visitors to the clinic by only permitting one caregiver (no siblings) to accompany children to their appointments to adhere to social distancing guidelines
•Therapists will coordinate their schedules to ensure that social distancing is respected before and after their appointment
•Providing virtual care upon request

Comprehensive Screening Process

•Phone Pre-Screening: Our staff will be asking questions about health related history and symptoms prior to your visit
•Screening Prior to Entering the Clinic Doors: All individuals will be screened (i.e. temperature will be taken) prior to entering the clinic
•Screening During Visits: Our staff will continue to monitor the health status of all individuals while in the clinic. If a change occurs, our screening protocol will be re-initiated.

Patients and families now have the ability to virtually visit with their clinician such as their Speech-language Pathologist or OT Therapist. Our staff have been working very hard to optimize all technological tools and resources to care for existing families without service interruption, and to offer new families the ability to experience care remotely. Do not hesitate to reach out to us for more information to see if virtual therapy is appropriate for you and your child.

We know that virtual care and education are here to stay, even after the COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to do our part in supporting families and provide complimentary services in addition to our virtual rehabilitation offerings.
